01 Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Edyantra [insert full registered legal entity name] ("Edyantra," "Pynk," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Pynk app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using Pynk, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
If you're using Pynk on behalf of a child as a parent, you're accepting these Terms both for your own account and, to the extent applicable, on behalf of that child's use through your linked access.
02 Eligibility & your account
- You need a Pynk account to use the Service. One account is meant for one person.
- You can create an account with Google, Apple, or a passwordless email link. Pynk doesn't ask you to set a password.
- Accounts have a role — student or parent — which determines what parts of the app are shown to you.
- Minimum age to hold an account, and any requirement for parental involvement below that age: [insert minimum age policy, to be finalized with counsel].
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, and for anything that happens under it.
- You're responsible for keeping your invite codes, link codes, and sign-in access to yourself — treat them the way you'd treat a spare key.
03 The Service, described plainly
Pynk helps you organize school life: a timetable built from a scan or entered by hand, a nightly pack list, notes, group projects, and shared boards for family and friends. Parents can link to a student's account to follow along, subject to the permission granted.
To set expectations clearly, Pynk currently does not include: payments, subscriptions, or in-app purchases; advertising; push notifications; direct messaging or chat outside project comments; public profiles or an open social feed; school administration features such as grades or attendance; or any content moderation, reporting, or blocking tools. If any of this changes, we'll update these Terms and the app itself to reflect it.
04 Acceptable use
When using Pynk, you agree not to:
- Post or share unlawful, harassing, abusive, or infringing content on boards, notes, comments, or project text
- Share your invite or link codes publicly, or otherwise enable access to your family's or child's data by people you haven't authorized
- Attempt to access another user's data outside a family, circle, or project membership you've actually been granted
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or otherwise abuse the Pynk app or API
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent a parent–child relationship when linking accounts
- Use Pynk for commercial solicitation, spam, or automated data collection
05 Your content & our license to it
You own the content you create in Pynk — your notes, timetable entries, board pins, project text, and everything else you add. By using the Service, you grant Edyantra a license to host, store, transmit, and display that content as needed to run Pynk, including showing it to the family members, friends, or project collaborators you've chosen to share it with.
Where you're a member of a shared board or project, your name and email may be visible to other members of that board or project, so they know who's contributing what.
This license ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except where content has already been shared with, or copied by, someone else in a way we can't retract (for example, a screenshot another user takes of a shared board).
06 Family, circle & parent–child linking
- Circle connections are grouped as Family (household sharing, view and nudge) or Friends (shared boards and projects). You choose the grouping when someone joins your circle.
- A parent may link to a student's account using a short code the student generates. This creates a permission — view or edit — for what the parent can see.
- You must only create a parent–child link for a child you're actually authorized to act for. Misrepresenting this relationship is a violation of these Terms.
- Where you invite family or friends into your circle, or accept an invite, you're agreeing that relevant content — such as the family board, or a project you're part of — becomes visible to the other people in that group.
07 AI-assisted timetable structuring
Text extracted from a scanned timetable photo may be sent to a third-party AI provider (currently Mistral AI) to help structure it into a schedule. You review and can edit the result before saving it — Pynk doesn't save anything from a scan without your confirmation. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
08 Third-party services
Pynk depends on services operated by Firebase, Google, Apple, Railway, and Mistral AI to function. If any of these services are unavailable, degraded, or change their own terms, parts of Pynk may be affected, and we aren't responsible for outages caused by a third-party provider outside our control.
09 No school, medical, or emergency guarantee
Pynk is a personal organizer, not an official school system and not connected to any school's official records. It is not a medical, safety, or emergency notification service, and does not currently send push notifications. Don't rely on Pynk as your only way to know about a missed class, a packing deadline, or anything time-sensitive or safety-related — always keep an independent way of staying informed for anything that matters.
10 Suspension & termination
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This permanently removes your account and the content it owns, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create legal or security risk for Pynk or other users, or if required by law — where practical, we'll try to let you know why.
- On termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy's retention and deletion sections.
11 Disclaimers
Pynk is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scanned or AI-structured timetables will always be accurate — always check what's saved against your actual timetable.
12 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edyantra will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including a missed class, a forgotten item, or a scheduling error, whether caused by the app, an AI provider, or another user's content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount, if any, you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (which, as Pynk is currently free, will typically be zero).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
13 Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Edyantra harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms — including misrepresenting a parent–child relationship or sharing access you weren't authorized to share.
14 Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [insert governing jurisdiction — engineering assumes India; confirm with counsel], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [insert city/jurisdiction], unless applicable law requires otherwise.
15 Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as Pynk's features change — for example, if we introduce a feature like push notifications or payments in the future. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes, we'll aim to notify you in the app. Continuing to use Pynk after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
